Lady Gaga at Coachella: The Mother Monster Took Us to Church (Then Hit In-N-Out Like a Legend) – Week One Edition

By Gladys Goldbach

Okay, let’s set the scene: It’s Friday night at Coachella 2025. The desert air is hot, the fits are hotter, and Lady Gaga is about to blow our collective minds. Headlining the first night like the absolute icon she is, Gaga stepped onto the stage in what can only be described as a castle disguised as a dress. No, really — she was literally standing on a multi-story gown. Drama? She invented it.

Her set, titled “The Art of Personal Chaos,” was less concert and more emotional opera-meets-dystopian dance party. She opened with a haunting a cappella of “Bloody Mary” (yes, the one that had a TikTok revival thanks to Wednesday Addams), before diving into “Abracadabra,” the absolute banger from her new album Mayhem. And when her dancers started crawling out from under her dress? People were SCREAMING. Us. We were people.

The entire performance was broken into four wild, thematic acts — think “psychological thriller but fashion.” She didn’t touch Artpop, Joanne, or Chromatica, and honestly? Bold move. Gaga’s focus was Mayhem, and she committed. The standout? A song called “Zombieboy,” dedicated to her late friend Rick Genest. Raw, vulnerable, and somehow still a bop. She also teamed up with French DJ Gesaffelstein on “Killah” and it was giving electronic séance. We’re still recovering.

Of course, the visuals? Absolutely unhinged in the best way. Gaga wore a snow-white version of her 2009 VMA McQueen dress and even brought back the infamous Paparazzi leg brace armor. The nostalgia was real. Plus, the choreo? Parris Goebel (the mastermind behind Rihanna’s Super Bowl set) cooked. Like, literally served a 5-course meal of hip-hop, theater, and raw movement. The whole thing was a motion picture.

And then came the plot twist…

After the chaos, the art, the emotional rollercoaster — Gaga disappeared into the night… or so we thought. Around 3AM, she was spotted at the In-N-Out in Upland. No security swarm, no diva energy, just Gaga in sweats (allegedly someone else's hoodie?) vibing in line like she hadn’t just melted 100,000 faces off an hour earlier.

She ordered a Double-Double, fries animal style, and a vanilla shake. A few stunned fans asked for selfies. One girl sobbed. Another dropped her phone. Gaga smiled, told someone she liked their eyeliner, and walked back to her SUV like the celestial being she is.

The best part? The cashier said she paid in cash.

Miti Boards Serves the Queen

While the rest of us were trying to track down phone chargers and our dignity, Kendra Ongalibang was living her actual dream. The founder of MitiBoards, a luxury charcuterie company that’s been serving up edible art for weddings and events around the Coachella Valley, had what she calls “the most chaotic day of her life.”

“A lot of things happened at Coachella this weekend,” she posted on IG, “but this had to be the craziest thing to happen in life so far! Screaming. Crying. Throwing up. It all happened while we were searching for some special ingredients for a client and then we got a call from Gaga’s management team.”

Yep — Gaga wanted a charcuterie board.

One of Kendra’s extra-special, hand-crafted grazing boards ended up backstage for the Queen herself. That’s not just a viral moment, that’s legacy. On her IG story, Kendra gushed about how surreal it was to serve her idol: “We made it to Gaga, y’all. Living the dream. IYKYK.”

The vibes? Immaculate. The meat? Cured. The cheese? Aged to perfection — just like this moment.

Bottom line? Gaga didn’t just headline Coachella — she devoured it.

From operatic vocals and plague masks to late-night fast food runs and artisanal meats, she reminded us why she’s Mother. And if you’re reading this wondering if it’s too late to get weekend two tickets: it is, bestie.

But livestreams? They got you.

Stay chaotic. Stay hydrated. And support your local charcuterie queen — you never know when Gaga might call.
